Religious Holidays + Festivals Observance Calendar and Resources

Harvard University is committed to fostering an academic environment where students of all religious, spiritual, and ethical traditions can thrive. We recognize that religious observance is an essential part of life for many members of our community, and we strive to provide the support necessary to balance these commitments with academic and professional obligations.

This calendar provides a list of some of the major holidays and festivals that may be likely to require observance access. This list is not exhaustive. Religious, spiritual, and ethical practices are vast, deeply personal, and often calculated through diverse calendar systems. If your religious or spiritual observance falls on a day not listed here, you are equally able to request observance access. This calendar is intended solely as a planning tool to help students proactively communicate with instructors; it is not a comprehensive or definitive record of all valid observances.
